Hired right out of law school, Dawn took a position as an Attorney at Schneider Law firm in 2000.  She gained experience as a litigator in several areas of personal injury, including car accidents, wrongful death, product liability, and worker's compensation. She worked at Schneider for 8 years before independently practicing law on her own.

 Dawn graduated in 1997 from Mankato State University where she received her Bachelor of Science  Magna Cum Laude in Political Science.  Later she attended The University of Minnesota Law School where she graduated with a Juris Doctor in 2000.
